On wove paper (papier vélin), clean condition, with a trace of oil in the upper outer margin.

Comments

Depicted is a male member of the Müller family with the transport cart of the Stafler milk cans, pulled by the horse Nini, in the forest below the Stafelalp. Of great rarity, Gercken lists only 5 examples, including this one. On the reverse with a chalk drawing "Standing and reclining nude", probably around 1914.

Dargestellt ist ein männliches Mitglied der Familie Müller mit dem Transportwagen der Stafler Milchkannen, gezogen vom Pferd Nini, im Wald unterhalb der Stafelalp. Von grosser Seltenheit, Gercken führt nur 5 Exemplare auf, darunter das vorliegende. Rückseitig mit einer Kreidezeichnung "Stehender und liegender Akt", wohl um 1914
