In the summer of 1912, Kirchner stayed for the first time for an entire summer in Staberhuk on Fehmarn, where he had rented rooms for himself, his girlfriend Erna Schilling (whom he had only met in June) and other companions on the first floor of the building next to the lighthouse from the lighthouse keeper Ernst Friedrich Lüthmann.

Im Sommer 1912 hielt sich Kirchner das erste Mal während eines ganzen Sommers in Staberhuk auf Fehmarn auf, wo er für sich, seine Freundin Erna Schilling (die er erst im Juni näher kennen gelernt hatte) und weitere Begleiter im 1. Stock des neben dem Leuchtturm stehenden Gebäudes beim Leuchtturmwärter Ernst Friedrich Lüthmann Zimmer gemietet hatte
