In the 1950s and 1960s, Hans Arp formed numerous collages, drawings and prints from his rich stock of shapes cut out of paper, his so-called "papier découpés". These paper dolls play a major role in the artist's late work and are characterised by the round shapes and the fold in the middle

Hans Arp formte in den 1950er und 1960er Jahren aus seinem reichen Bestand an aus Papier ausgeschnittenen Formen, seinen sogenannten "papier découpés", zahlreiche Collagen, Zeichnungen und Drucke. Diese Papierpuppen spielen im Spätwerk des Künstlers eine grosse Rolle und sind durch die runden Formen und den Falz in der Mitte gekennzeichnet
