Cadere's artistic work is characterised by his colourful round wooden sticks, which he always carried with him, like a nomad, and of which he has made about 200 since 1972. The works are each composed of pieces of wood of the same size, arranged according to a permutation system, each containing a flaw that distinguishes it. Our stick follows the type "Permutation B" with three colours and 21 wooden pieces. The mistake in the 10th and 11th segments concerns the inversion of 2 colour elements. Cadere himself kept a register of his "Barres de bois rond", as he called them. The date on the certificates he issued is not necessarily the date of creation, but usually the date of sale of the work. This is in line with his idea of the artistic work as a system he has defined with certain parameters, which produces a series of possible permutations

Erläuterungen

Caderes künstlerisches Werk ist geprägt von seinen bunten Rundholzstangen, die er, wie ein Nomade stets mit sich trug und von denen er seit 1972 ca. 200 gefertigt hat. Die Werke sind aus je gleich grossen Holzstücken zusammengesetzt, die einem Permutationssystem folgend angeordnet sind und je einen Fehler enthalten, der sie auszeichnet. Unser Stab folgt dem Typus "Permutation B" mit drei Farben und 21 Holzteilen. Der Fehler bei dem 10. und 11. Segment betrifft die Umkehrung von 2 Farbelementen. Cadere führte selbst ein Verzeichnis über seine "Barres de bois rond", wie er sie nannte. Das Datum auf den von ihm ausgestellten Zertifikaten ist nicht zwingenderweise das Entstehungs-, sondern in der Regel das Verkaufsdatum des Werkes. Das entspricht seiner Idee vom künstlerischem Werk als ein von ihm festgelegtem System mit bestimmten Parametern, das eine Reihe von möglichen Permutationen hervorbringt
