On the first inside pages in brush in Japanese characters dedicated and signed to a family friend of the artist "Dear family Sawyer / with respect and love Teruko Yokoi", on the cover inscribed "Christmas leporello". Eleven out of 13 works signed and dated by the artist in Japanese characters, the double-sided watercolour is dated and inscribed "1970 / Christmas"

Condition

Most of the watercolours are mounted in photo corners, some are glued in, all are in beautiful condition. The Leporello with slight signs of usage and at the exterior margins with a minimal discolouration

Comments

A special gift from the artist to a family friend, which was carefully supplemented from 1970 onwards with further works, probably annual gifts from Teruko Yokoi, until 1980. In this form it is a charming testimony of mutual respect and goodwill

Zustand

Die meisten Aquarelle sind in Fotoecken montiert, einige sind eingeklebt, alle sind in schöner Erhaltung. Das Leporello mit leichten Gebrauchsspuren und an den äussersten Rändern mit einer minimen Verfärbung

Ein besonderes Geschenk der Künstlerin an eine befreundete Familie, das ab 1970 mit weiteren Werken, wohl Jahresgaben von Teruko Yokoi, bis 1980 sorgfältig ergänzt worden ist. Es ist in dieser Form ein reizendes Zeugnis von gegenseitigem Respekt und Wohlwollen
