On very strong wove paper "Waterford", with blindstamp. With studio traces and traces of an old mounting on the reverse. Fresh colours and in perfect condition

Comments

In addition to the works in oil, works on paper occupy an important position in Scully's oeuvre. If the pasty application of paint in painting is part of the work, it is the reduced, fine "breath of paint" that distinguishes the works on paper. The colour nuances literally begin to "vibrate", achieving an incomparable plasticity on the paper. One of the artist's particularly charming pastels is offered here

Erläuterungen

Neben den Arbeiten in Öl nehmen Arbeiten auf Papier eine wichtige Stellung im Œuvre von Scully ein. Ist der pastose Farbauftrag bei der Malerei Teil der Arbeit, so ist es der reduzierte, feine "Farbhauch", der die Papierarbeiten auszeichnet. Die Farbnuancen beginnen förmlich zu "vibrieren", erreicht wird eine unvergleichliche Plastizität auf dem Papier. Hier angeboten wird eines der besonders reizvollen Pastelle des Künstlers
