On Japan paper, traces of an old mounting on the reverse. Absolutely fresh in color and in impeccable overall preservation
After the end of the Second World War, Nolde's expressive paintings and watercolours, which can be attributed to his late work, were created at his place of residence and work in Seebüll. They are characterised by an enormous blaze of colour and luminosity, and after being banned from the profession during the Third Reich, the watercolours have now become larger in format again. When painting, the artist trusted his instinct and always applied the colours generously. The lovingly laid out garden in Seebüll served again and again as a motif for the bright flower pictures
