Perfect casting with excitingly structured green-brown-grey patina
Miró often worked with materials found on walks or in the house ("objets trouvés") and assembled them into his sculptures, which he then had cast in bronze. He gave the works exclusively French titles, often very poetic ones, as the bronze offered here proves. Towards the end of his life, the sculptural œuvre became increasingly important for the artist. At eighty-one, Miró is said to have mentioned to his friend Alexander Calder: "I am an established painter, but a young sculptor." A bronze that truly radiates cheerfulness with a beautiful green-brown patina, cast in an edition of 6 copies and one copy for the artist
