A fine diagonal scratch, on the carboard mount the upper extreme edge with two traces of Scotch tape, the bottom edge with traces of an old mount. Verso the pasted label of the estate of Felix Klee, a label with title and customs stamps. The faintest light staining, in very fine condition, fresh colours
Already severely affected by his illness, Klee continued to work intensively in his last year of his life. Characteristic features are the generous sign language and a more restrained color palette. The present work seems to be at rest within itself, like the moon over the still sea. A wonderful composition, created in the still quiet first days of January 1940, shortly before the Second World War was extended to Western Europe

Minimalster Lichtrand, in sehr schöner, farbfrischer Erhaltung
