On laid paper, flawless and in fresh colours
Since his time as a teacher at the Bauhaus, the artist has been fascinated by the Protestant church in the Weimar district of Possendorf, probably because of the cubic structure of the medieval choir tower church. Five oil paintings were created. Towards the end of his life he took up the motif again in the graphic style typical of his late work

Auf Bütten, tadellos und farbfrisch
Seit seiner Zeit als Lehrer am Bauhaus hat den Künstler die evangelische Kirche im Weimarer Ortsteil Possendorf fasziniert, wohl wegen des kubischen Aufbaus der mittelalterlichen Chorturmkirche. Es entstanden fünf Ölgemälde. Gegen Ende seines Lebens hat er das Motiv im fürs Spätwerk typischen, graphischen Stil wieder aufgenommen
