Irregular margins and discolouration in the sheet, slightly foxed
Not Vital moved to New York in 1974 and bought a studio on Broadway in 1978. There he worked on large-format figure paintings. His models were friends and acquaintances, but also strangers. They sat on a chair or a sofa and were mostly depicted frontally. Most of the works are on paper, which was often cut out or torn and then reassembled. The background is predominantly kept neutral.

Unregelmässige Ränder und Verfärbung im Blatt, leicht stockfleckig
Not Vital siedelte 1974 nach New York über und kaufte sich 1978 ein Studio am Broadway. Dort beschäftigte er sich mit grossformatigen Figurenbildern. Seine Modelle waren Freunde und Bekannte, aber auch Unbekannte. Sie nahmen auf einem Stuhl oder einem Sofa Platz und wurden mehrheitlich frontal dargestellt. Die meisten Arbeiten sind auf Papier, das vielfach ausgeschnitten oder zerrissen und wieder montiert wurde. Der Hintergrund ist vorwiegend neutral gehalten.
