    Commentaires

The two villages Cannero and Cannobio are located on the western shore of Lake Maggiore. The two drawings were probably created during the crossing by boat from Luino, when Giacometti was traveling in the summer of 1907 together with the writer Daniel Baud-Bovy. In 1909, Baud-Bovy published the novel "Vacances d'Artistes", for which Giacometti created the illustrations.
