    Commentaires

Through the mediation of the art dealer Alfred Flechtheim, de Fiori carried out commissions for public figures from the worlds of culture, sports, and politics. His busts of the film diva Marlene Dietrich (1901-1992) and the boxing idol Max Schmeling (1905-2005), heavyweight boxing world champion between 1930 and 1932, were highly esteemed for their "spontanen Porträtauffassung".
