Commentaires

The complete annual volume in twelve issues (nos. 11 and 12 were published together). Each issue of the special edition includes an additional graphic sheet, for example by Rudolf Grossmann or Heinrich Campendonk. The illustrations in the magazine were generally expressionist in nature. The subjects were thematically diverse and ranged from iconographic motifs and genre scenes to works such as "Insekten" by Paul Klee, which probably represents the highest degree of abstraction in the 1919 volume. The sheet was watercoloured by the artist using stencils.

Erläuterungen

Der komplette Jahrgang in zwölf Heften (Nr. 11 und Nr. 12 erschienen zusammen). Jedem Heft der Vorzugsausgabe liegt ein zusätzliches Grafikblatt bei, etwa von Rudolf Grossmann oder Heinrich Campendonk. Die Darstellungen in der Zeitschrift waren in der Regel expressionistischer Natur. Die Sujets fielen thematisch vielfältig aus und reichten von ikonografischen Motiven über Genreszenen bis hin zu Werken wie "Insekten" von Paul Klee, das wohl den grössten Abstraktionsgrad des Jahrgangs 1919 darstellt. Das Blatt wurde vom Künstler mit Schablonen aquarelliert.
