Commentaires

According to Mellerio, only a few trial proofs were signed by the artist and of the planned edition of 100 copies, probably no more than 25 were actually printed. The sheet created in 1889 was not offered for sale until 1891, in Paris at Durand-Ruel and Dumont, in Brussels at Deman. One of the main sheets of the artist's entire graphic oeuvre.

Laut Mellerio waren lediglich einzelne Probedrucke vom Künstler signiert und von der geplanten Auflage von 100 Exemplaren wären wohl höchstens 25 gedruckt worden. Das 1889 geschaffene Blatt kam erst 1891 in den Verkauf, in Paris bei Durand-Ruel und Dumont, in Brüssel bei Deman. Eines der Hauptblätter des gesamten grafischen Werkes des Künstlers.
