The "Cascade" on the old branch of the Armançon River near the town of Tonnerre is a popular bathing and recreation spot in Burgundy. Camille Bombois, who grew up as the son of a barge captain on a tugboat, surely remembered this place—nestled between the river and the Burgundy Canal—from his childhood.

Erläuterungen

Die "Cascade" am alten Arm des Flusses Armançon beim Städtchen Tonnerre ist ein beliebter Bade- und Erholungsort in Burgund. Camille Bombois, der als Sohn eines Binnenschiffers auf einem Schleppkahn aufwuchs, hatte diesen Ort, der zwischen dem Fluss und dem Burgund-Kanal eingebettet ist, sicherlich aus seiner Kindheit in Erinnerung.
