    Commentaires

In 'Roulettetisch', Munch depicts a group of people gathered around a gaming table. The scene appears dynamic, almost chaotic. It captures a moment of collective greed and inner emptiness. In the foreground on the right, there is a man who is towers over the others. With rough lines and dense composition, Munch condenses gambling into a symbol of human dependency and existential restlessness. The sheet reflects his experiences in Bad Elster and Monte Carlo - places of excess and loneliness.

An extremely rich impression, executed by Wilhelm Felsing in Berlin.
