The sheet slightly browned in the paper. Verso with traces of old mounting. In very good condition
The lithograph ‘Attraction I’ is one of Edvard Munch's central graphic representations of the themes of love and desire, see also lots 769 and 770. At the centre are a man and a woman seemingly connected by the woman's hair. The focus is entirely on their relationship. At first glance, the scene appears harmonious, almost romantic. However, Munch's subtle imagery conveys the tension between closeness and danger, fusion and annihilation.
'Anziehung I' is not merely a depiction of a couple; it as an image of the soul. It captures a moment of absolute intimacy that also harbours a sense of threat. Munch reveals the ambivalence of love as a force between devotion and loss of self. A timeless symbol of human relationship in its most intense form.
Printed by Lassally in Berlin, an iconic sheet in the artist's oeuvre.

Das Blatt leicht im Papier gebräunt. Rückseitig mit Spuren einer alten Montierung. In sehr guter Erhaltung
