Impeccable condition
In this work, Bharti Kher uses a historical map of global flight routes as the basis for her artistic intervention. The surface is overlaid with coloured bindis arranged in concentric spirals. These symbolically charged dots, traditionally worn on the forehead, have been a central element in Kher's work for many years—they stand for the individual, the collective, and the spiritual at the same time.
In "I've seen more things than I dare to remember 2", the bindis form a kind of topographical marker: they translate geopolitical, historical, or emotional centres into visual vibrations. At first glance, the spirals appear decorative, almost hypnotic. On closer inspection, however, they overlay and break up the colonial order of the map. The work links personal memory with global history and refers to questions of migration, memory, and cultural identity.
The title itself—"I saw more, than I dare to remember"—evokes a tension between knowledge and repression, between visibility and invisibility. In this way, the work becomes both a poetic and political commentary on our relationship to space, history, and self-understanding in a globalised world.

In "I've seen more things than I dare to remember 2" bilden die Bindis eine Art topographischer Marker: Sie übersetzen geopolitische, historische oder emotionale Zentren in visuelle Vibrationen.
