Commentaires

A rarely large-format watercolour of pictorial character. The idyllic Cavloccio Lake is a popular excursion destination at the entrance to Val Forno. It can be reached on foot from Maloja in just over an hour. On the shore of the small lake, Giacometti had built a small hut for his utensils and often spent time there during the day in summer together with his family.

Erläuterungen

Ein selten grossformatiges Aquarell von bildhaftem Charakter. Der idyllische Cavlocciosee ist ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel am Eingang des Val Forno. Man erreicht ihn von Maloja aus zu Fuss in einer guten Stunde. Am Ufer des kleinen Sees hatte Giacometti eine kleine Hütte für seine Utensilien gebaut und hielt sich dort tagsüber im Sommer häufig zusammen mit seiner Familie auf.
