Condition

The sheet is slightly discoloured and shows spots. With creases at the edges and corners, upper right a supported tear. The colouring is fresh in colours. In good condition

Commentaires

Coloured trial proof with unique character before the edition, which appeared in the portfolio "VVV" in 1943 in New York in 50 copies. Kornfeld was only able to document one coloured copy in his catalogue raisonné. The trial proofs often have a monotype-like printed background, as the present example shows.

Das Blatt ist leicht verfärbt und weist Flecken auf. An den Rändern und in den Ecken mit Knittern, oben rechts ein hinterlegter Einriss. Die Kolorierung ist farbfrisch. In guter Erhaltung

Kolorierter Probedruck mit Unikatcharakter vor der Auflage, die im Portfolio "VVV" 1943 in New York in 50 Exemplaren erschienen ist. Kornfeld hat in seinem Werkverzeichnis nur ein koloriertes Exemplar nachweisen können. Die Probedrucke haben oft einen monotypieartigen gedruckten Hintergrund, wie das vorliegende Exemplar zeigt.
