    Commentaires

One of Maes' rather rare drawings after the living model. The sheet can be compared with a drawing in the Victoria & Albert Museum showing a boy who served as a study for the "Abraham's Sacrifice" painted around 1653-54 (now in the collection of Queens University in Kingston; see the catalogue of the exhibition at the Mauritshuis, The Hague and the National Gallery, London, 2019-20, cat. no. 3 for the painting and p. 192, ill. 12, for the accompanying drawing.

192, Reprod. 12, für die dazugehörige Zeichnung.
