The sculpture was sandblasted and rubbed with beeswax by the artist around 1974. In very good condition

Commentaires

The "Agressions" group of works is based on a found element that Bernhard Luginbühl placed in a vertical position, resulting in a tall rectangular cuboid whose longitudinal surface is drawn in on one side in the shape of a segment of a circle and which stands on legs that are narrow in relation to the figure. According to the artist, the title is derived from the viewer's subjective perception that the figure appears to be tipping over and can therefore be understood as a threat, as aggression. The sizes vary from approx. 84 cm to over 10 metres. The size indicated in the title bears no relation to the actual length.

Erläuterungen

Der Werkgruppe der Agressionen liegt ein vorgefundenes Element zugrunde, das Bernhard Luginbühl in die Vertikale stellte. Zu sehen ist nun ein hochrechteckiger Quader, dessen Längsfläche auf einer Seite kreissegmentförmig eingezogen ist, und der auf - im Verhältnis zur Figur - schmalen Beinen steht. Der Titel leitet sich nach Aussage des Künstlers aus dem subjektiven Empfinden des Betrachters ab, dass die Figur umzukippen scheint und dadurch als Bedrohung, als Aggression verstanden werden kann. Die Grössen variieren zwischen ca. 84 cm bis über 10 m, wobei die Grössenangabe im Titel in keinem Verhältnis zur realen Länge stehen muss.
