Commentaires

A fascinating portrait of Picasso's partner at the time, Marie-Thérèse Walter, from 1939. The artist made his relationship with Dora Maar official a year later, which is perhaps why 56 copies of motif were not printed by Lacourière until 1942. The edition remained unsigned. Maya, the daughter of Picasso and Marie-Thérèse, later stamped 40 sheets on the reverse with the Maya Ruiz Picasso stamp.

Ein spannendes Porträt von Picassos damaliger Lebensgefährtin Marie-Thérèse Walter aus dem Jahr 1939. Ein Jahr später machte der Künstler seine Beziehung mit Dora Maar offiziell, vielleicht wurde das Blatt daher auch erst 1942 von Lacourière in 56 Exemplaren gedruckt. Die Auflage blieb unsigniert. Maya, die Tochter von Picasso und Marie-Thérèse, versah später 40 Blätter rückseitig mit dem Stempel Maya Ruiz Picasso.
