Gouache and watercolour
43x35.4 cm
The present work is registered at the Sam Francis Foundation, Glendale, under the number SF55-142 and listed in the online Catalogue Raisonné of Works on Paper
On wove paper (papier vélin). Clean in condition. Corner lower right with small tear
Impressive, colourful and condensed composition in the classical "drip painting" manner, which was probably created in the studio at 14 rue Tiphaine in Paris. No spot was left unpainted by the artist. Abstraction and geometric patterns seem to meet here by chance.
