Commentaires

According to Naïma Jornod, the composition with two acts - it could be a couple - is inspired by a study "Femmes couchées (deux études)" (Archive of the Fondation Le Corbusier (FLC), no. 826). Other drawings (FLC 266, 4192, 4523 and 4560) are thematically similar to it. Through the different sizes of the figures and the different handling of the incarnates, Le Corbusier gives the work a compositionally intended effect of depth

Erläuterungen

Die Komposition mit zwei Akten - es könnte sich um ein Paar handeln - ist laut Naïma Jornod inspiriert von einer Studie "Femmes couchées (deux études)" (Archiv der Fondation Le Corbusier (FLC), Nr. 826). Weitere Zeichnungen (FLC 266, 4192, 4523 und 4560) sind ihr thematisch ähnlich. Durch die unterschiedlichen Grössen der Figuren und durch die verschiedene Handhabung der Inkarnate verleiht Le Corbusier dem Werk eine kompositorisch gewollte Tiefenwirkung
