Commentaires

This is a relatively accurate preparatory drawing for the upper left corner of the oil painting "Parau Hanohano" (Crussard/Wildenstein 460) with the "idol", the adjacent seated figure and the figure above walking towards the idol. - Such well executed and identifiable sketches from the Tahitian period are of great rarity

Es handelt sich um eine relativ genaue Vorzeichnung für die linke obere Ecke des Ölbildes "Parau Hanohano" (Crussard/Wildenstein 460) mit dem "Idol", der angrenzenden sitzenden Figur und der Figur darüber, die auf das Idol zugeht. - So gut ausgearbeitete und identifizierbare Skizzen aus der Zeit in Tahiti sind von grosser Seltenheit
