On strong wove paper (papier vélin) with watermark "BFK RIVES". Corners with holes from torn nails and the sheet with some old creases. On the reverse side with remains of an old mounting
In the last years of his life, Fernand Léger's art oscillated between figurative works such as the famous "La Partie de campagne" and "Les Constructeurs" and completely abstract compositions such as the present work. The overlapping elements of the study focus on colour and form. Thus, shapes drawn with black strokes overlap different colour fields in blue, red, yellow, orange and green
Contrary to the title, the present work is probably a study for a wall painting and not a terrace floor
