The colours fresh, in beautiful condition
Edouard Vallet settled in Savièse in 1911 and belonged to the "École de Savièse". The landscape and the peasants above Sion offered the artist a variety of subjects for paintings. Vallet created timeless and genre-like documents of peasant life and its folklore. The present work is probably one of Vallet's major works and was often shown in exhibitions.
