Condition

Splendid, strongly toned impression of the I. state, before the addition of the 3 gas lamps. On laid paper, with irregular margins, in clean condition. With minimal creases and slight discolourations

Commentaires

Of extreme rarity. Reed/Shapiro mention only one copy of each of the three states, the first two states have been in private collections until now, the sheet with the III state is in the Rijksprentenkabinett in Amsterdam. The catalogue of the 1918 sale already mentions "Trois états" under no. 88

Prachtvoller, stark toniger Druck des I. Zustandes, vor der Hinzufügung der 3 Gaslampen. Auf Bütten, mit unregelmässigen Randverhältnissen, in sauberer Erhaltung. Mit minimen Falten und leichte Verfärbungen

Erläuterungen

Von extremer Seltenheit. Reed/Shapiro erwähnen von allen drei Zuständen jeweils nur ein Exemplar, die beiden ersten Zustände sind bis anhin in Privatsammlungen, das Blatt mit dem III. Zustand befindet sich im Rijksprentenkabinett von Amsterdam. Bereits im Katalog der Vente von 1918 ist unter der Nr. 88 erwähnt "Trois états"
