    Commentaires

A very fine, important painting relating to the "Die Heilige Stunde" theme, a theme that the artist was preoccupied with for a long time and of which there were finally versions with two, four and six figures. In terms of posture, the present painting corresponds most closely to the figure on the left of the four-figure version of 1911, formerly Col.
