Richard Kisling Sammler / Collector

GALERIE KORNFELD  Richard Kisling, Sammler / Collector acquaintance with an artist was the purchase of a work. A very close friendship developed with Cuno Amiet. Kisling visited him several times on the Oschwand, beautifully documented in a photograph from 1913. At the centre of his collection were the groups of works by Cuno Amiet (cat. nos. 1, 3 and 5), Giovanni Giacometti (cat. nos. 56, 57 and 256) and Ferdi- nand Hodler (cat. nos. 70, 71 and 74), alongside of the Geneva group «Le Falot» with the artists Otto Vautier (cat. nos. 544–546), Émile Bressler (cat. no. 189), Eugène Martin (cat. no. 1007) and Hans Berger (cat. nos. 180, 181, 798–800). From the environment of the avant- garde artists’ association «Der Moderne Bund» his collection also included pain­ tings by Oscar Lüthy (cat. no. 396), Künstlern und ihrer kreativen Arbeit war für Kisling ein Lebenselixier. Am Anfang einer jeden Bekanntschaft mit einem Künstler stand der Ankauf eines Wer- kes. Eine sehr enge Freundschaft ent- wickelte sich mit Cuno Amiet. Kisling besuchte ihn mehrmals auf der Oschwand, schon früh durch eine Foto- grafie von 1913 dokumentiert. Im Zentrum seiner Sammlung standen Werkgruppen von Cuno Amiet (Kat. Nrn. 1, 3 und 5), Giovanni Giacometti (Kat. Nrn. 56, 57 und 256) und Ferdin- and Hodler (Kat. Nrn. 70, 71 und 74), nebst der Genfer Gruppe «Le Falot» mit den Künstlern Otto Vautier (Kat. Nrn. 544–546), Émile Bressler (Kat. Nr. 189), Eugène Martin (Kat. Nr. 1007) und Hans Berger (Kat. Nrn. 180, 181, 798–800). Aus dem Umfeld der avantgardis­ tischen Künstlervereinigung «Der Beim Kaffee auf der Oschwand, 1913.
